In 2023, the Africa Prime Initiative (#API) partnered with @LomanArt to support and promote talented visual artists in #Senegal. Together, we supported five talented individuals—Amy Celestina Ndione, Fatou Mandoye Mbengue, Laye Thioune, Mouhamad Jawad, and Xaadim Bamba Mbow—with US$2,000 grants each to further their artistic journeys.

These funds provided the artists with resources to explore new opportunities, from residencies and exhibitions to materials and training, helping them showcase their creativity on a global platform.

This autumn, their progress was celebrated with ‘Soppiku: Metamorphosis – The Evolution of Artistic Identity’ at Loman Art, an exhibition highlighting their transformation and the power of investing in local talent.
